The Algonquin / Lake in the Hills Soccer Association currently has over 600 players ranging in age from 4 through 17.
ALITHSA offers several soccer programs to meet the needs of the children in the community. As players continue to develop their skills, they are encouraged to “climb” the pyramid to participate in the more competitive programs offered. Throughout every level, our goal remains the same: to develop young athletes, foster a love of the game, build good sportsmanship and promote soccer in the local & surrounding communities.
Our recreation leagues starts by teaching children the basics of soccer in a team structure. We field teams in both the fall and the spring for children ages 4 through 17. Co-ed and single-sex teams are available at the U10 level and above. For divisions U6 and above, all games are held on Saturday at Sunset Park. U5 games are held on Friday nights.
Our skills trainings builds on the skills learned during practices and games to solidify soccer fundamentals. These free training sessions are hosted on Friday nights and lead by a team of professional coaches.
For players looking to compete at the next level, these academies are available to all recreation players in the U7 - U8 and U10 through U12 divisions who are prepared to train hard to develop their all around game. There is a heavy emphasis on developing a player’s technical skills. The Academy consists of four sessions in spring and is free for registered ALITHSA players and a $30 fee for non-ALITHSA players. Note: non-ALITHSA players cannot attend the academy if he or she is registered with another club.
For players who are interested in playing soccer in a more competitive environment, our travel team (Arsenal) is a three-season opportunity available for players ages 7 through 17. The Arsenal offers professionally trained coaches who lead intense practices focusing on player development through the four pillars of the game: Technical, Tactical, Physical, & Psychological. Try-outs are generally hosted around June 1st.
